qos account layer-all encapsulation
To account for Layer 1 header length of 20 bytes in QoS policing features, use the qos account layer-all
encapsulation command. To disable the use of additional bytes, use the no form of this command.
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or keywords.
Command Default
On Supervisor Engine 6-E, Supervisor Engine 6L-E, Catalyst 4900M, Catalyst 4948E, and Catalyst
4948E-F, policers account only for the Layer 2 header length in policing features. In contrast, in rate
calculations, shapers account for header length as well as IPG.

Usage Guidelines
Supervisor Engine 6-E, Supervisor Engine 6L-E, Catalyst 4900M, Catalyst 4948E, and Catalyst
4948E-F use the qos account layer-all encapsulation command to account for Layer 1 header of 20
bytes ( preamble + IPG) and Layer 2 header in policing features. When this command is configured,
policer statistics ( in bytes ) observed in the output of the show policy-map interface command reflect
the Layer 1 header length as well ( 20 bytes per packet).
