G919 NIB FIRMWARE MODIFICATION HISTORY
DESCRIPTION OF MODIFICATION
First release.
1.
The field problem of poor performance
with NetWare has been fixed.
2.
CIDR is supported.
3.
It is possible to select TCP/IP enable or
disable.

IPP printing (v1.0) is supported. (See
Note 1.)
2.
AS400 problem in Australia—system
hung up with remote print from AS400—
has been fixed.
(The countermeasure for NIB 450e has
been included in NIB type 2000)

VAX/VMS problem—job remains in the
queue after printing from VAX system—
has been fixed.
(The countermeasure for NIB 450e has
been included in NIB type 2000)
4.
IP fragmentation problem with token
ring/Ethernet converter has been fixed.
5.
It is possible to fix network speed at
100M or 10M bps.
Note 1: IPP printing
Only G049 and G054 support this feature. (not supported by G031/G032)
Windows 2000 or Windows 98/ME allow IPP printing. IPP client program must be installed in
Windows 98/ME before using the feature. The IPP client program, WPNPINS.exe, is on the
Microsoft Web site.
With the Add printer wizard, an IPP port can be specified as follows:

Note 2: Network speed
The network speed can be fixed at100Mbps or 10Mbps by built-in web browser.
Be aware that the machine will never communicate with the host if the wrong network speed
has been set by accident.
