3) Direct the timing light to the timing plate and the
timing indicator and make sure of the timing
mark to which the timing plate points.
1 C.D.I. magneto rotor
2 Timing mark
3 Timing plate
4) If the timing plate failes to point to the specified
ignition timing, loosen the C.D.I magneto base
stopper bolt and align the ignition timing mark
with the timing plate. Bring the C.D.I. magneto
base stopper to contact the stopper on the
crankcase, and tighten the bolt.

4 Magneto base stopper
NOTE:
To make the above ignition timing adjustment, dis-
connect the joint link connecting the C.D.I. magneto
base to the magneto control lever, and move the
magneto base.
Before starting the adjustment, loosen the carbure-
tor link set screw, and set the carburetor cam roller
free so that the engine speed will not increase.
