RECOIL STARTER
5) Position the inner end of the starter-spring on
the retainer-post of the sheave-drum.
6) Install the bushing to the starter-case.
NOTE:
Apply Yamaha marine grease to the outer surface of
the bushing.
7) Pass the starter-rope through the cutaway.
8) Wind-up the spring 2 turns counterclockwise
with the starter-rope.
9) Hook the drive-pawl spring onto the drive-pawl,
install the drive-pawl on the starter-case boss,
and then hook the drive-pawl onto the bushing.
NOTE:
Apply Yamaha marine grease to the pawl-drive hole.
10) Secure the drive-pawl with the circlip.
