RECOIL STARTER

INSPECTION
Drive pawl and spring
1) Visually inspect the drive pawl for breaks,
bends or wear and, if these are found, replace
the things.
Sheave drum
1) Visually inspect the sheave drum and sheave
pin for damage, cracks or warping and, if these
are found, replace the sheave drum.
Bushing
1) Visually inspect the bushing for wear or cracks
and replace as required.
Starter shaft
1) Visually inspect the starter shaft for wear or
cracks and replace as required.
Starter rope
1) Visually inspect the starter rope for kinks or
fraying and, if any damage is found, replace the
starter rope.

Do not use a damaged starter rope it could
cause injury.
Starter rope length:
2,070 – 2,120 mm (81.5 – 83.5 in)
