CRANKCASE/TRANSMISSION/CRANKSHAFT/BALANCER
REAR CRANKCASE BEARING
REPLACEMENT
Heat the crankcase
to about 80°C
(176>F) when
removing the shift
drum bearing.
Remove the mainshaft, camshaft and shift drum
bearings with the special tools.
TOOLS:
Mainshaft and camshaft bearings:
Bearing remover, 17 mm
Remover handle
Remover weight
Shift drum bearing:
Bearing remover, 20 mm
Remover handle
Remover weight
Drive the countershaft and balancer bearings out of
the rear crankcase.
Apply engine oil to new bearings.
Drive the mainshaft bearing in with the sealed side
facing down.
TOOLS:
Mainshaft bearing:
Driver
Attachment, 37 x 40 mm
Pilot, 17 mm
Drive the following bearings in with the marked side
facing up.
TOOLS:
Balancer and camshaft bearings:
Driver
Attachment, 37 x 40 mm
Pilot, 17 mm
Countershaft bearing:
Driver
Attachment, 62 x 68 mm
Pilot, 25 mm
