User Guide
To install a board connected to a PCI board slot:
1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions listed under
System" on page 109
2. Prepare your system for upgrade. See
on page 110
3. Remove the right side door. See
4. Remove the expansion slot screw.
5. Remove the expansion slot cover from the inside of the cabinet by pushing it
out the rear of its expansion slot with your fingers. Save the expansion slot
cover for future use.

6. Remove the option board from its protective wrapper, holding the board only
by the edges. Do not touch the board components or the gold connectors.
Observe static precautions. Use an antistatic wrist strap.
7. Record the option board serial number in the equipment log.
8. Set any board jumpers or switches as described in the documentation that
comes with the option board.
