- Problem -
Thin black lines appear on the copy.
- Possible Causes -
1. Scratched cleaning blade
2. Dirty or scratched exposure glass or dirty or scratched mirrors
3. Scratched or dirty drum
4. Scratched hot roller
- Action -
Do the black lines shift when a reduction copy is made?
No
Yes
Clean or replace the exposure glass or mirrors. After cleaning the
optics, perform the necessary SP modes in order (SP95, 48, and 56).
Is the edge of the cleaning blade scratched?
No
Yes
Replace the cleaning blade.
Is the hot roller scratched?
No
Yes
Check whether black lines appear on the copy by stopping the
copy paper in the transport section. If no black lines appear,
replace the hot roller.
Check whether the drum is scratched or toner is built-up on the drum.
If toner is built-up on the drum, clean the drum with a damp cloth.

If the drum is scratched, replace the drum.
•
NOTE: When replacing the drum, perform drum initial setting using SP66.
