Resolving issues with the console

Use the following table to resolve issues with your room system's console.

Issues
You're trying to draw digital
ink, but you're erasing digital
ink.
Your room system isn't
turning off when people
have left the room.
Your room system is turning
off when people are present.
Issues
The console should be
receiving power but isn't.
There's an issue with the
Lync appliance or the
interactive flat panels.
The screen is blank.
The console screen appears
on the interactive flat panel
rather than on the console.
There's no touch control.
Solutions
Lift other fingers and the palm of
l
your hand from the interactive flat
panel while you write because the
interactive flat panel is interpreting
them as an eraser.
Use a smaller pointer, such as the
l
pen.
Enable presence detection (see
l
page 60 for small and large rooms
or page 67 for medium rooms).
Increase the time before the
l
interactive flat panel automatically
turns off.
Solutions
Ensure that the console is
connected to the power supply as
show in the installation instructions
(see page 8).
Refer to the troubleshooting table
on page 48.
Ensure that the HDMI cable is
connected as shown in the
installation instructions
(see page 8).
Follow the instructions on page 16
l
to correctly configure the room
system software.
Ensure that the cable from the
l
HDMI1 receptacle on the Lync
appliance is connected to the
console.
Use SMART Board Diagnostics,
l
which is available from
SMART Settings (see page 54), to
troubleshoot the issue.
Ensure that the USB cable is
l
connected as shown in the
installation instructions
(see page 8).
