  • Page 4 A blank, unencrypted USB drive with at least 8 GB of space A USB keyboard and mouse Customers with active SMART Service Plans can request an upgrade kit by initiating a service ticket with SMART Support (smarttech.com/contactsupport). SMART and Microsoft are providing an upgrade for the SMART Room System™ software to Microsoft Teams Rooms for customers who have an active SMART Service Plan (smarttech.com/services/offerings).
  • Page 5 SMART recommends the SrsScreensaver.scr screen saver and using SMART SRSv2 Power Plan Gen5 for the power plan. You can set this screen saver and power plan for the Skype user account by double-clicking the enableScreensaverAndPowerPlan script shortcut on the Admin user’s desktop.
  • Page 6 SMART Board 8000i-G5 series interactive displays have black and red pens and no color select modules. To turn off the presence detection sensor manually on a SMART Board 8000i-G5 series interactive display 1. Press the MENU button (1) on the side of the display.
  • Page 7 To remove unneeded cables and connect the SRS-V2 dongle 1. If your SMART Room System includes a wall-mount kit with panels covering the cables below the displays at the front of the room, remove the panels to grant access to the cables.

On the left-most display, pull the two green lock tabs down (A), tilt the display away from the wall (B), and then flip out the green kickstands (C). 4. Disconnect the USB bridge cable and the USB cable that’s connected to it, and then remove the cables.

Download the Microsoft Teams Rooms system software image for SMART Room System hardware from the SMART website: support.smarttech.com/docs/redirect/?product=srs-skype-v2&context=download 3. Unzip the downloaded file to the root of the USB drive.

  • Page 11 Upgrade guide SMART Room System for Microsoft Teams Rooms 7. Press F4 on the keyboard. The Save & Exit Setup window appears. 8. Select Yes, and then press ENTER on the keyboard. The room system restarts, installs the software, applies updates, and then turns off.

If a SMART touch system firmware update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware on one display at a time. 5. Go to Start > Settings > Time & Language. Ensure that the date, time, time zone, and language are correct.
