B. Control Panel
1. Outline
The control panel of this printer consists of 2 LEDs, 2 LCDs and 8 keys.
The control panel is connected to the video controller PCB via the intermediate PCB and per-
forms the following functions.
a. Indicates the status and errors of the printer with LCDs.
b. Indicates the operational state of the printer with LEDs.
c. Sets the Setup and Print menus using the keys.
2. Operation
The interface of the control panel is a single line bidirectional serial interface.
The LEDs, LCDs and the information generated by the keys on the control panel are con-
trolled by the signals sent from the video controller. The ASIC on the video controller and the
CPU on the control panel exchange required data.

FP3: (/SI) Low true seial input data (LED and LCD command).
