Pear and almond cake
Preheat the oven to 355°F (gas mark 4).
Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over a low heat.
Peel the pears. Halve and core them. Poach* for 5-10 minutes in a pan.
Put the eggs and sugar in the bowl with the metal blade and blend until light and
fluffy. Add the melted unsalted butter, flour, salt and baking powder to achieve a
soft consistency. Transfer to a buttered mold.
Slice the pears using the 4-mm slicing disc and arrange on top of the mixture.
Scatter with flaked almonds.
Bake in the oven.
