Re-Enabling the IP Modem Icon inside Desktop Manager
for Windows
What if you're IP Modem icon disappeared; how could you I get it back?
First, you should be sure to contact your carrier to see if you can use Desktop
Manager's IP Modem feature. If their answer is yes, follow these steps to edit the
ip_modem_configuration.xml file. If your carrier says no, following these steps will likely
not work; please use the software recommended by your carrier.
1. Locate the ip_modem_configuration.xml file. It is probably best to use
the Windows search feature or Google Desktop to find this file, but you
may find it in one of these places:
Vista: C:\ProgramData\Research In Motion\BlackBerry
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Research in Motion\BlackBerry
