Searching for Lost Stuff
Your BlackBerry can hold so much information that it can sometimes be difficult to keep
track of where everything is. Thankfully, BlackBerry comes with a very comprehensive
search program to help you find exactly what you are looking for. For example, with the
Search icon, you can search Calendar events to answer questions like, ''When is my
next meeting with Sarah?'' and ''When did I last meet with her?'' (For this to work, you
need to type people's names in your events, like ''Meet with Sarah.'')

Understanding How Search Works

Once you get used to your BlackBerry, you will begin to rely on it more and more. The
more you use it, the more information you will store within it. It is truly amazing how
much information you can place in this little device.
At some point, you will want to retrieve something---- - a n ame o r a word o r p hrase---- - but
you may not be exactly sure of where you placed that particular piece of information.
This is where the Search icon can be invaluable.

Search Built into Messages (Email)

A nice search program is built right into your Messages (email) icon that allows you to
search for names and subjects and has many options. Learn how to use this built-in
Messages Search on page 252.

Finding the Search Icon

In your applications menu, there is a Search Icon. If you have enabled
hotkeys (see page 541), pressing the hotkey S will start the Search icon.
From your home screen of icons, use the trackpad to find the Search icon. It
may be located within the Applications Folder.
