Hearing a Different Tone When Someone Special
Calls
You may decide you want to hear a different ringtone when someone special calls. You
can do this in Profiles and in your Contacts (Address Book) by assigning a Custom
Phone Tune to a particular contact. Below we show you the Profiles method, which has
the added benefit of allowing you to assign as many names as you want to a single
ringtone.
To set a custom notification profile:
1. Click the Sounds icon.
2. Scroll down and click Custom Profiles.
3. Press the Menu key and scroll to New
and click.
4. Type in any name for this new Profile in
the field marked Name, like Boss.
5. You can set each individual tone or
alert as you did above.
6. You can also set a Contact Alert from
the Profiles menu. Just click on the
Sounds icon and scroll down to
Contact Alerts and click the trackpad.
Then, click on Add Contact Alert and
press the trackpad and select Add
Name.
