Backup and Restore Options screen: Click the Options button under the Backup
heading on the left side of the page to see the Backup Options screen shown in
Figure 2-36.

If you want to back up data stored in your main BlackBerry memory (such as pictures,
video recordings, voice notes, or other information) then you would check the box next
to Back up on-board device memory.
If you have especially confidential information and want to encrypt your backup file for
added security, then check the box next to Encrypt backup file.
The default for Automatic Backup Settings are every 7 days and to back up all the
device data. You can adjust this to be any number of days; try fewer days if you are
more worried about your data being lost.
The backup can take several minutes or more depending on how much information you
have stored on your device. The easiest way to speed up the backup is to back up less
information. Since your email is on your computer or email server anyway, you might
want to check Email Messages. This would skip backing up email. If you sync regularly
with your computer, then you could check the box next to Application data that is
synchronized with an organizer application on my computer.
Click OK to save your options settings.
