The most common audio/music formats supported are:
ACC - audio compression formats AAC,
AAC+, and EAAC+ AMR - Adaptive Multi Rate-Narrow Band (AMR-NB)
speech coder standard
MIDI - Polyphonic MIDI
MP3 - encoded using MPEG
WAV - supports sample rates of 8 kHz, 16 kHz, 22.05 kHz, 32 kHz,
44.1 kHz, and 48 kHz with 8-bit and 16-bit depths in mono or stereo.
NOTE: Some WAV file formats may not be supported by your BlackBerry.
TIP: Mute Key for pause and resume
You can pause (and instantly silence) any song or video playing on your BlackBerry by pressing
the Mute key on the top of your BlackBerry. Press Mute again to resume playback.
Media Player Options
To adjust media options, press the Menu key and select Options to see the options
screen below. You can then turn on or off the equalizer for your headset. You can also
enable Audio Boost which is disabled by default. You can turn on Auto Backlighting and
adjust Closed Captions (enable, change style, change position) see Figure 21-3.
