Basic SMS Menu Commands

The following table list many of the options that are available via the menu commands in
SMS messaging.
Help
Paste
Select
Add Smiley
Mark Unopened
Check Spelling
Clear Chat
Delete Chat
Show Recipients
Send
Save Draft
Add To:
Edit AutoText
Show Symbols
Switch Input Language
Switch
Application
Close
Gives you contextual help with SMS messaging (See page 159 for more
tips on this Help feature).
Suppose you have copied text from another program and want to paste
it into your SMS message. Select and copy the text (from the calendar,
address book, or another application) and select Paste from this menu.
The text is now in your SMS message.
Click here (or just use the shortcut: Shift key) to begin selecting text from
the SMS message, then press the Menu key or trackpad again to choose
Copy or Cut. Now, use the Switch Applications menu item to navigate
to another application and press the Menu key and select Paste to put
the text in that application.
Insert a smiley or emoticon (happy face, sad face, etc.)
Mark the selected message as unopened.
Will run the BlackBerry spell checker on the message.
Clears all messages of the entire chat session.
Deletes all messages of the entire chat session.
Show every recipient of SMS message you are about to send.
Send this SMS message.
Saves the current message as a Draft, which you can later edit and send.
Adds a second line for putting in another recipient.
Allows you to add or edit AutoText entries.
Bring up the list of Symbols.
TIP: You can also just press the SYM key to see the symbol list.
Change the language used for typing and spell checker.
Bring up the multitasking window so you can jump to another
application icon. See page 322.
Exit the application icon—same as pressing the Escape key.
