SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS 4-23
"C12" CKP SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
The signal does not reach ECM for 3 sec. and more,
after receiving the IAP signal.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Metal particles or foreign materiel being attached
on the CKP sensor and rotor tip.
CKP sensor circuit open or short.
CKP sensor malfunction.
ECM malfunction.
INSPECTION
Step1
1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- 2) Check the CKP sensor coupler

for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then measure the CKP sensor resistance.
3) Disconnect the CKP sensor coupler and measure the resis-
tance.
CKP sensor resistance: 130

Green)
4) If OK, then check the continuity between each terminal and
ground.
CKP sensor continuity: R (Infinity)
(White
-
Ground)
(Green
-
Ground)

Tester knob indication: Resistance (R)
Are the resistance and continuity OK?

GO
to step 2.

Replace the CKP sensor with a new one.
