ENGINE OVERHEATS
Symptom, possible causes and remedy
1) Defective engine internal parts
Heavy carbon deposit on piston crowns.
Not enough oil in the engine.
Defective oil pump or clogged oil circuit.
Sucking air from intake pipes.
Use incorrect engine oil.
Defective cooling system.

2) Lean fuellair mixture
Short-circuited IAP sensorllead wire.
short-circuited IAT sensorllead wire.
Sucking air from intake pipe joint.
Defective fuel injectors.
Defective ECT sensor.

The other factors
Ignition timing too advanced due to defective timing
advance system (ECT sensor, GP switch, CKP
sensor and ECM.)
Drive chain is too tight.
DIRTY OR HEAVY EXHAUST SMOKE

Too much engine oil in the engine.
Worn piston rings or cylinders.
Worn valve guides.
Scored or scuffed cylinder walls.
Worn valves stems.
Defective stem seal.
Worn oil ring side rails.
SLIPPING CLUTCH

Weakened clutch springs.
Worn or distorted pressure plates.
Distorted clutch plates or pressure plates.
DRAGGING CLUTCH

Some clutch springs weakened while others are
not.
Distorted pressure plates or clutch plates.
TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT

Broken gearshift cam.
Distorted gearshift forks.
Worn gearshift pawl.
