The difference between the number of enabled channel objects
(equal to the Maximum Number of Channels when all are
enabled) and the Preferred Number of Channels, is the
overload that the designated driver can accept when another driver
machine crashes or stops unexpectedly or becomes unavailable as a
result of network partition or normal shutdown for maintenance
purposes. This setting is live, any change of value will immediately
affect the concerned driver.
When a T38 driver initializes, the LicenseManager will attempt to
proffer the requested Maximum channel objects if enough channels
are available, or channels operating in overload by other drivers
become available.
If channels operating in overload are reclaimed, the driver will
return them as soon as they terminate any pending transmission. The
initiating driver ("lender") will reclaim its channels gradually, as soon
as they are returned by the other drivers ("borrowers") respectfully.
The OmniTouch Fax Server server includes the following five
components: the Fax Manager, the Driver, and the Rasterization
Services, XML and SMTP gateways.
The OmniTouch Fax Server Fax Manager controls and manages all user
information, the fax message store, and all configuration settings
for inbound auto-routing.
The server manages all requests from all client installations in the
OmniTouch Fax Server network and is the queue manager for
Incoming as well as Outgoing faxes. The Fax Manager is accessed
through OmniTouch Fax Server.
OmniTouch Fax Server supports both the T.38 protocol and fax
boards. If your OmniTouch Fax Server installation uses the T.38
protocol, the driver provides the interface between the fax manager
and the gatekeeper or gateway.
Incoming faxes are received by the driver and sent to the fax
manager, which in turn distributes them to the various clients in the
network. Outgoing faxes are sent to the driver from the fax manager.
OmniTouch Fax Server offers three gateways of which the SMTP and
XML gateways are installed by default. The SMTP and XML gateways
are server components.
