Directories Integration holds a set of rules that allow the system to
find Attributes based on queries made against internal or external
directories. Whether the system needs to assign a fax to a user
(inbound faxing) or retrieve a user's Personal Information to send a
fax (outbound faxing), it must find a set of Attributes that identify
the user (name, company, etc.) and that will later be used to
determine the user's Site or Profile. These Attributes are obtained by
evaluating the queries configured in the Directories Integration.
These queries are based on the Input Attributes. Although almost any
Attribute could be used as an Input Attribute, the system will always
begin its queries with the user's SMTP Address.
OmniTouch Fax Server has its own Internal Directory, but it can also
interact with Active Directory or any other LDAP Directory. On a fresh
install, the system is configured to by default use only the OmniTouch
Fax Server Internal Directory.
