The content of the query fields is directly related to the structure of
your Active Directory tree. This tree is similar to a folder/file
structure where a folder is a "container" and a file is an "object" with
properties called "Attributes."
There are three options that require configuration: Search Base,
Search Scope and Search Filter. This configuration is similar to what
you would configure for a file search.
The Search Base indicates where in the tree the search begins. It
should be used to narrow the search to the location of user objects in
the Active Directory. A Search Base is identified by a container's
Distinguished Name (DN) which represents the path to the container.
In a typical Active Directory configuration, the user container DN will
be cn=users,dc=domain. For example, if your Active Directory domain
is mycompany.com, a good Search Base would be
cn=users,dc=mycompany,dc=com.
The Search Scope is used to control the depth of the search. It has
three possible values: Base, One Level and Sub.
