6. Click Upload to upgrade the firmware. A progress meter is displayed while the upgrade takes
place. The system will reboot once it has been updated. Configuration information and data are
unaffected by this process.
WARNING!
Once you have started to upgrade the firmware, it is important that you allow it to
complete. Do not attempt to cancel the upgrade process, or power off the machine.

Backup (Settings)

It is possible to save the HP D2D's configuration file by downloading it to the host system or emailing
it to the email recipients as a file. If the HP D2D is repaired or replaced, the configuration file can be
uploaded to restore the following configuration parameters:
• network settings
• medium changer and tape device configuration
• initiator names
• email alert settings
• tape attach schedules and settings
• World Wide Names
• Library serial numbers
To generate the configuration file
1. Click on Generate to create the configuration file.

At the prompt, select a location to save the file.
