You will be required to enter the product's serial number when you request a License to Use key.
The HP D2D is supplied with either six or twelve hot-plug RAID disks.
• The 12–disk version includes a license certificate for the additional disks and is supplied ready to use.
However, warning status messages will be displayed until you apply the LTU key. Also, to ensure
that HP Customer Support has complete information about the disk status of your HP D2D Backup
System, and to ensure you can re-apply the license if you subsequently need to repair or replace
your HP D2D, HP strongly recommends that you follow the instructions on the license certificate to
register the additional disks.
• If you extend the capacity of the 6–disk model by purchasing and installing an additional set of six
disks, you will receive a license certificate. You must register the additional disks and will not be able
to use them until you enter the License to Use key in the Web Management Interface.

To apply the license key

1. Obtain the unique License to Use key, as instructed on the License Entitlement Certificate. This is
normally from the HP Licensing website at http://www.webware.hp.com. We recommend that you
select the option to save the license to a .DAT file.
2. Select the License page From the Web Management Interface to display a list of licensable features.

Select the feature that you wish to license and click in the checkbox to enable it. Either enter the
unique License to Use key or, if you saved it to a .DAT file, upload it. The key is specific to the HP
D2D Backup System and cannot be transferred.
