17 Close the sled. See "Installing the Front and Back Sled Covers" on
page 165 or "Installing the Sled Cover" on page 168.
18 Reinstall the sled into the enclosure. See "Installing a Sled" on page 142.
19 Turn on the sled and attached peripherals.
If the problem persists, the processor is faulty. See "Getting Help" on
page 289.
20 Turn off the sled and attached peripherals.
21 Remove the sled from the enclosure. See "Removing a Sled" on page 141.
22 Open the sled. See "Removing the Front and Back Sled Covers" on
page 161 or "Removing the Sled Cover" on page 166.
23 Remove the cooling shroud. See "Removing the Cooling Shroud" on
page 210.
24 Replace processor 1 with processor 2. See "Installing a Processor" on
page 217.
25 Close the sled. See "Installing the Front and Back Sled Covers" on
page 165 or "Installing the Sled Cover" on page 168.
26 Repeat step 16 through step 10.
If you have tested both the processors and the problem persists, the system
board is faulty. See "Getting Help" on page 289.

Troubleshooting the System Board

CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You
should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered
by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the
product.
1 Remove the sled from the enclosure. See "Removing a Sled" on page 141.
2 Open the sled. See "Removing the Front and Back Sled Covers" on
page 161 or "Removing the Sled Cover" on page 166.
3 Remove the mezzanine card.
4 Locate the NVRAM clear jumper on the system board.
