FCPD-1001

Message

failed on
Probable Cause
Indicates that a Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) switch probed devices on a loop port, and probing
failed on the L_Port, or AL_PA address, or the F_Port. For the AL_PA, the valid range is 00 through
FF. The error string can be either of the following:
Recommended
This can happen when the firmware on the device controller on the specified port has a defect.
Action
Check with the device vendor for a firmware upgrade containing a defect fix.

Message

Probable Cause
Indicates that the response frame received on the specified port for an inquiry request contains an
invalid value in the routing control field.
Recommended
This can happen only if the firmware on the device controller on the specified port has a defect.
Action
Check with the device vendor for a firmware upgrade containing a defect fix.

Probable Cause
Indicates that private devices will not respond to the switch port login (PLOGI) during probing.
Recommended
The Brocade DCX, 4100, 4900, 5000, 7500, and AP 7600 do not support private loop devices.
Action
Refer to the switch vendor for a list of other port types that support private devices for inclusion into
the fabric.
