When using [Auto-creating client printers]
(MetaFrame)
[Auto-creating client printers] can select a log-
ical printer created by copying the client's lo-
cal printer data to the MetaFrame server. We
strongly recommend testing this function un-
der your network environment before apply-
ing it to actual jobs.
• The settings for optional equipment will
not be stored in the server after the equip-
ment is disconnected. The settings for op-
tional items will return to default values
each time the client computer logs on to
the server.
• When printing a large number of bitmap
images or using the server in a WAN envi-
ronment over dial-up lines such as ISDN,
depending on the data rate, printing may
be disabled or errors may occur.
• When using MetaFrame XP 1.0 or later
versions, we recommend configuring [Cli-
ent Printer bandwidth] available from [Cit-
rix Management Console], according to the
environment.
Operating Instructions
Administrator Reference
• If a printing error occurs on the server and
the print job or [Auto-creating client print-
ers] cannot be deleted, we recommend do-
ing the following:
• MetaFrame 1.8 SP3, MetaFrame XP
1.0 SP1/FR1
Configure the [Delete unfinished print
jobs] settings in the registry. For more
information, see the Readme file pro-
vided with MetaFrame.
• MetaFrame XP 1.0 FR2
Configure the [Delete pending print
jobs at logout] settings in [Printer Prop-
erties Management] of the Citrix Man-
agement Console.
When using [Printer driver replication]
(MetaFrame)
[Printer driver replication] is designed to dis-
tribute printer drivers across all servers in a
server farm. We strongly recommend testing
this function under your network environment
before applying it to actual jobs.
• If the printer drivers are not properly cop-
ied, we recommend installing them direct-
ly onto each server.
