Color Image Reader-H1

If the Color Image Reader-H1 is attached, originals can be scanned to the
machine.
Place the originals on the platen glass when copying bound originals (such as
books and magazines), heavy or lightweight originals, and transparencies.
IMPORTANT
If the Color Image Reader-H1 is attached, the optional Feeder (DADF-R1)
or Platen Cover Type K is required.

Platen Glass
IMPORTANT
• When using the platen glass to copy or scan thick originals, such as books
or magazines, do not press down hard on the feeder or platen cover.
• If the platen glass, original feeding belt, or underside of the platen cover is
dirty, print quality may deteriorate. In this case, clean the platen glass,
original feeding belt, and underside of the platen cover. (See "Platen Glass/
Original Feeding Belt/Underside of the Platen Cover," on p. A7-59.)
