Environmental Conditions

Indoor use only, not exposed to direct sunlight.
l
The instrument should not be located in areas where the temperature varies
strongly up and down. This might affect the results.
Altitude: Up to 2000 m
l
Operating conditions:
l
+15 °C to +35 °C (ideal: 22 °C), relative humidity 80 % maximum at 31 °C,
decreasing linearly to 50 % at 40 °C
Transportation and storage conditions:
l
-20 °C to +50 °C, relative humidity 5 to 90 %,
IEC 68-2-56 guidelines provided in transportation package
Installation category (overvoltage category): II, according to IEC 60664-1 (see
l
note)
Pollution degree: 2 according to IEC 60664-1 (see note)
l

Installation category (overvoltage category) defines the level of
l
transient overvoltage which the instrument is designed to withstand
safely. It depends on the nature of the electricity supply and its
overvoltage protection means. CAT II is the category used for
instruments in installations supplied from supply comparable to public
mains such as hospitals and research laboratories and most industrial
laboratories.
Pollution degree describes the amount of conductive pollution present
l
in the operating environment. Pollution degree 2 assumes that normally
only non-conductive pollution such as dust occurs with the exception of
occasional conductivity caused by condensation.
Both of these affect the dimensioning of the electrical insulation within
l
the instrument.
