Magazines

The stacker has two magazines:
IN magazine (left position): To be filled with the sample plates to be
l
measured.
OUT magazine (right position): Must be empty at the beginning of the
l
measurement; will contain the measured plates at the end.
The green handles can be used to hold or carry the magazines. The upper movable
handles must be folded down after the magazines have been installed.
The placement of the magazines is guided by magnets and grooves on the stacker.
The IN and OUT LEDs on the control panel and in the control software indicate
whether the magazines have been placed correctly. Make sure that the plates are
correctly oriented (see well A1 marking on the magazine).
The magazine has a locking mechanism that prevents the plates from sliding down
out of the magazine. If you press the two pins at the bottom frame of the magazine
towards each other (see arrows), the locking mechanism is released and the entire
plate stack can be guided downwards out of the magazine.

How to remove/install the magazines
1. Press the Park button on the control panel to move the gripper arm to the left
and get free access to the magazines.
2. To remove a magazine, slide it backwards and then lift it.
3. To position a magazine on the stacker, lower it on its intended position (open
side facing left, IN = left position, OUT = right position) and slide it to the front
until it stops. The IN/OUT LEDs light up green when the magazines have been
positioned correctly.
4. Make sure that the upper green movable handles are folded down.

The magazines can hold up to 20 normal-sized sample plates with or
without lids. The plate stack must not exceed the height of the magazine.
