Recommended Protective Measures
To reduce the residual risk of a gas leakage (e.g. tubing, pressure controller or fitting
damaged or not installed correctly), at least one of the following measures should be
carried out by the customer.
Ensure sufficient air exchange in the installation room to avoid dangerous
l
carbon dioxide concentrations and low oxygen concentrations in case of a
malfunction.
Use only a small carbon dioxide cylinder with a maximum filling of 1 kg CO
l
40 m³ volume of the installation room. In case of a leakage, no dangerous
carbon dioxide concentration can occur, even if the whole volume of the
cylinder should escape.
Monitor the carbon dioxide concentration in the installation room and install an
l
automatic mechanism which shuts off the carbon dioxide supply if dangerous
concentrations of carbon dioxide are detected.
VICTOR Nivo – User Manual
Danger! Carbon Dioxide Gas (CO
In high concentration, carbon dioxide is harmful to health. Depending on
the concentration it can lead to headache, tiredness, and dizziness, in
higher concentrations even to unconsciousness, spasms, and death.
Carbon dioxide is hardly perceptible.
Nitrogen mixes easily with air. High concentrations of nitrogen reduce the
oxygen content in the air.
If using the VICTOR Nivo reader with external gas control option, follow
l
the installation and safety instructions in this manual and the safety
instructions provided with the gas control option.
Do not install the system in very small rooms or without sufficient room
l
ventilation.
Install pressure controllers at the gas tanks to reduce the output
l
pressure of each gas tank to 2 bar. Lower pressures can lead to
malfunctions, higher pressures could destroy the instrument or lead to
harmful concentrations in case of an instrument malfunction.
Keep the plate door of the VICTOR Nivo closed to avoid the escape of
l
gas.
Gas supply must be switched off during downtime of the instrument.
l
Notice
It is the customer's responsibility to carry out the recommended measures
correctly and in a professional manner.
