Mechanical Hazards

Gripper arm and gripper (with stacker only):
VICTOR Nivo – User Manual
Warning! The user must ensure that no substances are spilled from the
wells, or preferably use a plate seal to prevent cross-contamination. When
using the dispenser, special care must be taken to ensure that the correct
plate is inserted into the reader. Also, the bottles containing the liquids to
be dispensed should be placed in such a way that they do not topple.
Avoid overfilling of the wells. Shaking of a plate with overfilled wells or at
too high speed or operating the stacker with overfilled wells can cause
spilling and contamination of the system.
The user is responsible for ensuring that the substances used are not
heated to the ignition or flash point. Although the maximum temperature of
the measuring chamber is 65 °C, the heating plate can heat up to 92 °C.
The user is responsible for venting possible vapors of toxic or corrosive
materials before they reach dangerous concentrations.
Warning!
The gripper clamps the plate at the sides when
gripping. As a result, there is a risk of finger
squeezing in this area. Keep away from the working
area of the stacker when the stacker is in operation.
Warning!
There are pointed pins on the inside of the gripper. This poses a risk of
scratching (and infection if the gripper is contaminated with hazardous
substances). Do not touch the pins and be very careful when working near
the gripper.
Warning! Do not attempt to stop or limit the stacker movement while the
system is powered on. Doing so might injure the user or damage the
system.
