2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
a. Extend the server from the rack.
b. Remove the server from the rack.
5. Remove the access panel.
6. Allow the heatsink to cool.
7. Remove the heatsink:
CAUTION:
CAUTION:
To prevent mechanical damage or depositing oil on your hands or other contaminant to the heatsink contact surface,
hold the heatsink only by the edge of its base plate. Do not touch the heatsink fins.
a. Review the heatsink screw numbering on the heatsink label.
b. Loosen the heatsink screw numbers 6, 5, 4, and 3 in a diagonal manner (callouts 1 to 4).
