Text Conventions
This manual uses the following fonts and symbols to express specific types of
information.
Font/Symbol
Meaning
What you type, when contrasted with on-screen
AaBbCc123
computer output.
This font is used to indicate an example of
command input.
The names of commands, files, and directories;

This font is used to indicate an example of
command output in the frame.
Italic
Indicates the name of a reference manual.

Indicates the names of chapters, sections, items,
buttons, or menus.
Command Syntax in the Text
While the XSCF commands have a section number of (8) or (1), it is omitted from the
text.
For details on the commands, see the Fujitsu SPARC M12 and Fujitsu M10/SPARC
M10 XSCF Reference Manual.
Syntax of the Command-Line Interface
(CLI)
The command syntax is as follows:
A variable that requires the input of a value is in Italics.
An optional element is enclosed in [].
A group of options for an optional keyword is enclosed in [] and delimited by |.
