READ POSITION Command
Description
• The drive is ready to perform any
appropriate command.
• The drive remains in any previously
set mode.
• The tape is not moved.
Use the
REQUEST SENSE
retrieve status information. Possible
Sense Keys are:

02h Not Ready
04h Hardware
Error
05h Illegal
Request
06h Unit
Attention
READ

No cartridge is in
the drive.
Parity error on
the SCSI bus or
drive hardware
failure.
The Command
