Mixing DIMM types is not supported. Install only the supported DDR4-2666 or DDR4-2933 DIMMs in the
server.

Installing a DIMM
Only the 32 GB, dual-rank x4 PC4-2666V-R and 32 GB PC4-2933Y-R DIMMs supports the ADDDC RAS
feature.
Procedure
1.
Power down the server on page 23.
2.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4.
Do one of the following:
•
Server in rack mode: Remove the server from the rack on page 23.
•
Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 25.
5.
Remove the access panel on page 25.
6.
Remove the PCI air baffle on page 29.
7.
Remove the system air baffle on page 30.
8.
Install the DIMM:
a. Open the DIMM slot latches.
b. Align the notch on the bottom edge of the DIMM with the keyed surface of the DIMM slot, and then
fully press the DIMM into the slot until the latches snap back into place.
