Reference test gain

Ref erence Test Gain is a control position which is usually set af ter doing the high-level measures such as
OSPL90 and Full-on gain. If this is the case the result is a basic f requency response (IEC 118-0) or
f requency response curve (ANSI S3.22). If using the IEC the volume control is adjusted against a 1.6 kHz
tone which with an input of 60 dB should produce an output 15 dB less than the OSPL90 at the same
f requency. For hearing aids f itted to very high f requency hearing losses the ref erence test f requency is
changed to 2.5 kHz. In the ANSI standard the procedure is identical; only the test is run at three f requencies
1, 1.6, or 2.5 kHz. The HIT440 Setup allows f or applying both the ANSI and IEC procedure depending on the
pref erence of the prof essional. A customized version combining elements f rom the two may also be
established.
Ref erence Test Gain is perf ormed as described in section 3.7.1. While the test is running adjust the volume
control to the target line.
