Only use accessories expressly certified by the manufacturer for combination
with the surgical microscope.
Risk of injury!
If the working distance of the accessories mounted on the underside of the
microscope is insufficient, the patient's eye may be injured e.g. by uninten-
tional movement of the focus.
• Make sure that the range of movement is sufficient for the external focus
position when accessory equipment is attached.
• When using a fundus viewing system (e.g. RESIGHT 500 or RESIGHT 700
by ZEISS), which is usually placed between the surgical microscope and
the patient, make sure that the patient is neither put at risk nor injured
by the motorized focusing system or the movement of the suspension
system arm.
Risk of injury caused by fundus viewing system moving in!
If you have mounted the RESIGHT fundus viewing system on the underside
of the microscope and steeply tilt the microscope, the RESIGHT fundus
viewing system may unintentionally move in and injure the patient.
• Remove the RESIGHT fundus viewing system before steeply tilting the mi-
croscope.
• With the fundus viewing system swung out of the beam path, always po-
sition the microscope body in such a way that the index dot (1) of the mi-
croscope's focus is in the middle of the upper triangle (2) of the marking.
• Select a medium magnification (e.g. 1.0).
2
• Lower the surgical microscope to the surgical field until the cornea of the
patient's eye is in focus.
• Turn the setting screw for limiting the downward movement clockwise as
far as it will go and check without the patient that the suspension arm
cannot be lowered any further.
• It is vital that you read the Instructions for Use for the fundus imaging sys-
tem used (e.g. RESIGHT 500 or RESIGHT 700 from ZEISS).
