For safety reasons, the device must not be used if a malfunction was noticed
before the start of a procedure.
• Correct the malfunction (see "What to do in the event of malfunctions")
or contact ZEISS Service.
Check that the correct rated voltage has been set on the suspension sys-
tem.
Check that all cables have been connected.
Check that the light guide has been connected.
Check that the OPMI protective cover has been removed.
There is enough room for the accessories installed.
• Turn on the system at the power switch of the suspension system.
Surgical microscope
Check the zoom
• Press the appropriate button on the foot control panel.
Check the focus
• Press the appropriate button on the foot control panel.
Friction adjustment of the surgical microscope
Check that the friction of the surgical microscope's rotation has been ad-
justed as required using the friction adjustment knob on the suspension
system.
Speeds of the microscope functions
Check that the speeds of the microscope's functions have been adjusted
on the S7 suspension system as required.
Eyepieces / binocular tube
Check that the surgical microscope and the tube are in an ergonomic po-
sition.
Check that the correct interpupillary distance has been set.
Check that the eyecups have been adjusted in such a way that you can see
the full field of view.
Check that the correct prescription has been set on the diopter scale.
Image quality is correct throughout the entire magnification range.
