Retinal injury to the patient's eye!!
Too much light intensity (brightness setting is too high) or excessive radiation
exposure times may lead to retinal injury in the patient's eye.
• Adjust the illumination intensity as required for the selected type of illu-
mination and the radiation exposure time. You will find the values recom-
mended by ZEISS in the table "Maximum radiation exposure times" on
Page 21.
• Turn on the unit at power switch (5).
• Use arrow keys (4) to successively select the following functions:
lamp brightness,
motor speeds for focusing, zoom and X-Y coupling.
 The respective LED (2) lights up.
• Use keys (3) to set the values required for:
lamp brightness,
motor speeds for focusing, zoom and X-Y coupling.
 The respective setting can be read from the display (1).
Lamp brightness
setting range: 0.1 to 1.5
Level 0.1 corresponds to the lowest, level 1.5 to the highest lamp bright-
ness.
Motor speed
Setting range: 1 to 10
Level 1 corresponds to the lowest, level 10 to the highest motor speed.
– The value set is saved after 10 seconds and displayed the next time the
system is started.
– If no entry is made via the arrow or plus/minus keys, the system will switch
to the lamp brightness display after 15 seconds at the latest.
