Initialization

This section details on how to initialize the AP device using

ScanTool

ScanTool is a software utility that runs on Microsoft's Windows machines and is included in the installation CD-ROM
within the device package. Using ScanTool, the IP address assigned to the device can be obtained and, if required, can
be changed to the IP address that is appropriate on the network. The ScanTool automatically detects the devices
installed in the network segment, regardless of IP address, and enables the configuration of each device's IP settings.
To access the HTTP interface and configure the device, the device must be assigned an IP address, which is valid on its
Ethernet network. By default, the AP is configured to obtain an IP address automatically from the Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server during the boot-up. If your network contains a DHCP server, you can run the
ScanTool to find the IP address of the device. If your network does not contain a DHCP server, the Access Point's IP
address defaults to 169.254.128.132 and the device starts with a dynamic IP address.
