The NGE103B includes three identical channels with a continuous voltage range of 0
to 32 V. The instrument provides a source of up to 3 A at 11.2 V and at 32 V, it provides
up to 1.05 A using the sophisticated power management.
Similar to NGE103B, the NGE102B provides an output power of 33.6 W for Ch 1 and
Ch 2 respectively.
Combination of the set voltage and current limit results in the following output perform-
ance graph.
Figure 5-7: Output performance graph
According to the electrical basis formula for power (P) = current (I) x voltage (V), the
following results for the maximum power per channel:
NGE102B: 33.6 W per channel (67 W max for the combination of two channels)
NGE103B: 33.6 W per channel (100 W max for the combination of three channels)
For more information on the combination of channels, see
Serial
Mode",
on page 98.
The R&S NGE100B includes two operating modes, i.e. the constant voltage (CV) and
constant current (CC). The instrument switches automatically between CV and CC
depending on the connected load.
CV mode
Figure 5-8
shows that in the range of voltage regulation, the output voltage V
remains constant while the current may increase to its maximum value I
connected load is increasing. In CV mode, the font text in the channel display area
changes to green.
