Statistical Data

This window displays the statistical properties of numeric signals, such as the
average, minimum, maximum and standard deviation. If you add a non-
numeric signal, an error icon is displayed. The statistic values are calculated
based on the time range that is selected in the time slider. If the time range
changes, the statistic values are recalculated automatically. In an MDF meas-
ure file, single samples can be marked with an "invalid" flag. In the statistics
instrument, an exclamation mark indicates whether in the selected time range
an invalid sample exists. Invalid samples are excluded from the statistical cal-
culation. If the assigned signal changes, the content also updates auto-
matically. For example, the signal changes in the following cases:
The assigned signal is a calculated signal and you modify the cal-
l
culation formula. For more information, see "Defining Calculated Sig-
nals" on page 58.
You replace the measure file that contains the signal or other signals

that are used for calculating the assigned signal. For more information,
see "To replace a measure file" on page 30.
You define a time offset. For more information, see "Defining a Time Off-

set for a Measure File" on page 32.

To quickly navigate to a specific signal, you can use the scrollbar on the right
side of the instrument. Alternatively, you can scroll by using the keyboard:

1. To move upwards, press the C
2. To move downwards, press the C
1. Move a column by dragging its column header to the new pos-
ition within the table header.
A line between the columns appears together with highlighted
areas on the left and on the right of the line.
2. Select the left or right highlighted area to place the column in
front of or behind this line.
3. Release the mouse button.
