Inspect the battery regularly.
Battery Disposal
Battery replacement cartridges facilitate environmentally friendly recycling of batteries and should
meet all national regulations for battery disposal.
Warning
Do not attempt to remove or exchange batteries from the UPS. Batteries can only be
exchanged by Brainlab or authorized partners.
Empty batteries must be properly disposed of or recycled according to your organization rules and
local legislation. For battery disposal and replacement, arrange an appointment with Brainlab
support.

How to Charge the UPS
To optimize the lifetime of the UPS, it should be completely discharged and recharged once
every three months.

NOTE: It is possible to use the Monitor Cart while the UPS is charging, however if mains power is
lost, standby power will last less than five minutes.

Description
Two hours (full recovery)
Maximum five minutes
Arrange for Brainlab support to replace the UPS battery every three years
(if inspected regularly).
The UPS is composed of two 12 V, 12 Ah valve-regulated, spill-proof, main-
tenance-free, lead-acid batteries.
Discharge the battery by unplugging mains power from the wall outlet while the system is
running.
Wait until the system shuts down (maximum five minutes).
Turn system on again and repeat step 1 until the system shuts down automatically, emit-
ting a long beep followed by short beeps.
The battery is now empty.
To recharge, plug in the system and turn on the mains power.
Allow the system to charge for two hours.
