7. Checking crankshaft shoulder clearence
The shoulder clearance is checked by placing a dial
gauge (1) with a magnetic base on the crankshaft (2)
as shown in the Fig.
If the clearance is found to be greater than as re-
quired, replace the rear main thrust bearing shells
and check the clearance again.
8. With the centring ring (2):
296210, for the F2B engine;
296211, for the F3A engine, position the front cover
(1) on the crankcase, screws down the screws (3)
and tighten them to the required torque.
