Design

The TM54F is a terminal expansion module for snapping onto a DIN EN 60715 mounting rail:
The TM54F features fail-safe digital inputs and outputs for controlling and signaling the
states of the Safety Integrated Basic Functions.
Note
DRIVE-CLiQ line of the TM54F
• A TM54F must be connected directly to a Control Unit via DRIVE-CLiQ.
• Each Control Unit can be assigned only one TM54F which is connected via DRIVE-CLiQ.
• Additional DRIVE-CLiQ nodes can be operated at the TM54F, such as Sensor Modules
and Terminal Modules (excluding an additional TM54F). It is not permissible that Motor
Modules and Line Modules are connected to a TM54F.
• In the case of a CU310-2 Control Unit, it is not possible to connect the TM54F to the
DRIVE-CLiQ line of a Power Module. The TM54F can only be connected to the sole
DRIVE-CLiQ X100 socket of the Control Unit.

The TM54F provides four fail-safe digital outputs and ten fail-safe digital inputs. A fail-safe
digital output consists of a 24 VDC switching output, an output switching to ground and a
digital input for reading back the switching state. A fail-safe digital input is made up of 2
digital inputs.
