Resolving Keyboard, Monitor, and Mouse Problems
All or some keys on the keyboard do not work:
• Verify that the keyboard cable is properly connected to the system, and
installed on the correct port (closest to the monitor connection).
• Make sure that the system and the monitor are powered on.
The mouse does not work:
• Verify that the mouse is securely connected to the system.
The monitor screen is blank:
• Verify that the system is powered on.

• Verify that the monitor signal cable is connected to the correct connector on the
system, and installed on the correct port.
• Verify that the monitor is turned on and the brightness and contrast controls are
adjusted correctly.
The monitor screen has cursor only or wrong characters appear.
• Verify that the

is working properly.
Some monitors have their own self-tests.
• If you suspect a problem with the monitor, refer to the information that comes
with the monitor for adjusting and testing instructions.
