Internal Battery Feature (IBF)
The IBF feature is capable of delivering 5kw of power. The IBF enables between 3 and 20 minutes of full
power holdup. Hold up time is configuration dependent. The IBF is self-testing and is integrated into the
machine diagnostics.
IBF Locations
The IBFs are located in the front side of the System 390 Integrated Server frame to the left of the HDD
array. There is space for two units. and there can be 0, 1 or 2 units installed. If 1 unit is installed, it will be
the top unit (IBF1). The bottom unit is IBF2.
IBF LED Description
The IBF has one LED.
• BATTERY ENBLD (GREEN) indicates that the IBF contact has been actuated.
