it really is just the diagnostics' instance number for this card. That is, if the diagnostics find three
cards present, it just numbers them 1, 2, or 3, in the order listed above. See "Error Messages" on
page 40 to find the error code in the list The list breaks the problem into one of three categories.
If all selected tests are passed, an informational message is briefly displayed All Tests Complete.
The screen is then automatically switched back to the initial Wide Area Connector Test Control
panel. The tests can be re-run, modified, or a different card selected by repeating the above
procedure.

When testing is complete, return to the first screen and select F3 to exit the diagnostics program.

When testing is complete, remove the diagnostic diskette and the CD disc and reboot the system by
pressing CTRL-AL T-OEL (or by press the RESET switch).
Error Messages
If a problem exists with the WAC Adapter or the EIB, an error code in one of the following ranges appears
to indicate what action should be taken: Format is 'OOxxxxx'.

Explanation

Action to Take
Replace the EIB, cable, and wrap plug for link A.
Replace the EIB, cable, and wrap plug for link B.
Take the following actions:
1. An EIB may not be installed properly. Check
to be sure the EIB is in place and the
EIB-specific cable is connected securely.
2. There may be a configuration error. Verify
that the configuration parameters are correct.
3. If the problem still exists after these actions
are taken, replace the WAC adapter card.
4. If the problem persists, run the diagnostics
again for your server system to identify the
problem.
Online help is available if you have questions about any of the options. Select F1 from any screen to
receive an explanation or instructions for that screen.
Installing the EIB
Complete the following steps to install the EIB on the WAC adapter card:

If the WAC adapter card has already been installed in your integrated seNer, you must remove the
adapter to install an EIB.

Place the adapter on a flat surface.

Orient the keyed EIB above the two rows of sockets for the selected link. Avoid touching the pins of
the EIB. Match up the guide arrows on the EIB and the WAC adapter card as shown in Figure 22.
